2018 Conference Speaker Profiles

Steve is the senior pastor of Park Road Anglican Church. It’s safe to say the comment he has heard most often in his career is, What? You’re a pastor? – something he tries not to take personally and also goes to prove that a) God has an incredible sense of humour, and b) anything is possible with God. After growing up in the Blue Mountains, Steve spent five years in the police force in Mt Druitt before enrolling at Sydney Missionary and Bible College (SMBC) in 1995, and is often asked why. I just kept seeing people go to gaol and come out worse than they went in – I was a Christian and knew that the only way people really change is when they meet Jesus. So I figured if I wanted to change the world I needed to introduce as many people to Jesus as possible. So I left the Cops and went to SMBC.

Steve is married to Nonie (something he’s still trying to figure out how he pulled off!), they have three sons, Ben, Nochi and Daniel. Together they’ve served in churches in Sydney, Tasmania and Green Valley.

In addition to his role as Senior Pastor, Steve has served as chair of KYCK from 2012 to 2016, and speaks regularly at different church and evangelistic events. When he’s not talking to people about Jesus, Steve loves 4WDing, hunting, golf, hanging out with his family or getting along to Sydney Symphony Orchestra performance in the Opera House… no, really, he does!!

Anton is married to Kylie and they have two almost teenage girls, Laura and Amelie. Anton roasts and pours coffee for a living in Canowindra, and also flies hot air balloons commercially. He has an honours degree in theology, has successfully planted a new Christian church in Canberra and came to faith in Jesus by reading the Bible.
